Variety is Key

Indoor plants are fabulous not only for reducing indoor pollutants but add a wonderful feel to any room. Think variety when it comes to choosing your plants to give the home a more balanced flow of energy. For example, ivy has a clinging trailing habit or corresponds to water energy. Therefore, it is useful in an area that lacks sunlight (such as internal bathroom) because, unlike many plants, it grows in shade. North is an ideal position for ivy with its strong water energy and underlying wood qualities.

Dracaena's have a strong upward growth with sharp pointed leaves combines tree and fire energy. This is a wonderful plant to stimulate energy in a corner or under a sloping ceiling. This is a good plant energy for the east, southeast or south areas in your home.

African Violets are a strong fire energy with its vibrant purple star shaped leaves. It is helpful in attracting attention and getting public recognition for your efforts. This plant is very yang or active in appearance and therefore fantastic for low vibrating areas such as corners. The east, southeast and south portents are strong areas for this fantastic plant.

The Money plant with its round thick leaves represent strong metal qi. It provides a sense of stability with finances. Albeit plants by and large are wood energy this particular plant holds strong metal within it. Therefore, adding this plant as a gentle feature in the northwest especially will assist in networking opportunites for financial gain.

The aforementioned are just a few plants that have powerful qualities in the feng shui of your home or office. Using plants can effectively help avoid stagnation by getting the energy moving. Plants can also soften protruding architecture by calming the cutting qi, slow down fast moving energy in long hallways, add natural living energy, improve air quality, and for those plants with spiky leaves adds a sense of security.

This is a problematic energy in this current 9 cycle period.  This star reflects all things connected with relationships from partnerships in business, friendships, children and romance. Do you ever feel like a gray cloud is constantly hovering over you?  Do you feel no matter what you do it seems to be a struggle?  One of the most common reasons for stagnancy in life is clutter.  When energy is stuck in a physical sense it has far reaching effects on every aspect of our being.  It has a tendency to throw us off track in life, question our direction, and to trigger emotional, physical and spiritual malaise. On some level, your mind is aware of what is going on.  On another level it is the subconscious mind’s way of avoiding what needs to be done. 

For our life to work well it is necessary to clear the clutter and make room for new energy to propagate.  Part of this process is to disengage from the emotional attachment we have with the objects we possess.  The trick is to make any honest assessment about the objects in your space and the emotional strain it is having on the flow of your life. When we understand that every part of the human life experience is encapsulated within our home through design, images, symbols, sounds and smells, we can then assess whether these objects add value to our life or keep us physically and emotionally stuck.

Take action now to energize your space and begin a life filled with abundance by following these simple guidelines.  You will feel empowered by your ability to control your space, feel lighter, realize new opportunities, and move through life more effortlessly.

1.      Take a tour of your home and record the clutter zones of each room.

2.      Note how you feel when you look at your possessions. Do you have a positive reaction or a negative one?

3.      Create a system for discarding unwanted, broken, return, or donation items.

4.      Set an intention as you remove unwanted items.  You are now energetically opening up to attracting new desires into your life.

5.      Take breaks during the clutter-clearing session to recharge your energy.

6.      Strive for a cleared, simple, natural and uncluttered feel.

7.      Make sure each room has at least two strong light sources.

8.      Add pizzazz to each room with accents (i.e.: fresh coat of paint, flowers, seashells, or plant).

9.      Re-think your furniture positioning and create open and inviting seating arrangements.

10.  Locate the East direction in your home and place a healthy plant and other wood elements (green colors, floral designs, columnar shapes or wood accent pieces). This is a direction that sparks “New Beginnings.”

11.  Space clear each room for a fresh revitalized feel by spraying pure essential oils.

12.  Let go, have fun and live simply.

Once you begin the process of aligning your space, you will naturally increase the energy level of the structure and in turn, your personal energy will heighten.  You will naturally be drawn to healthier eating habits, physical habits and spiritual habits.  You have a choice to change your life through the design of your space. Welcome readers to the month of April - a time for new beginnings, and new beginnings it most certainly will be. The energy couldn't be more reflective of this time with the yang (active) three Zhen trigram swinging into motion.This is a temperamental and aggressive energy so disagreements can easily occur this month. This star is also known to bring windfalls with new projects and business ventures. The energy can move very quickly so it is important to be thorough. 

The feet, neck, liver and gallbladder are weakened this month as the star loses energy to the earth center position where it takes a seat. The assessment below is a reflection of how this energy reacts to the 8 directions of the compass. It is a generalized analysis as each home can interact differently with this star depending on year built and facing direction. However, the assessment below is a good indicator of what to expect. This star however is untimely in this current cycle so its negative effects such as family tension and relationship disagreements based on indecision can arise. The hips and thighs are areas of vulnerability this month and especially for females.

The month of February reveals the 5 yellow sha star. This is a highly problematic unsettled energy that can create general chaos, illness, and misfortune. The instability of this star makes it difficult to make sound decisions and therefore you should avoid doing anything major be it projects or important life decisions.  If you must move forward on a decision or project then make sure you take every precaution and review information over and over again.

Northwest: Beautiful 6 white star enters the portent of travel, networking and helpful mentors this month. There is a potential for real leadership qualities to flourish this month and especially for patriarch. Windfalls are likely as assistance from others is strong.

North: There is excellent energy entering the portent of career this month. The one white star assists with career advancement especially for males. Doing proper research in your field of expertise proves to turn out well with advancement.

Northeast: Also great energy for the portent of inner wisdom this month. Intuitively males understand what financial moves to make this month –real estate or additional shares investment strategies bode well.

This is a highly problematic unsettled energy that can create general chaos, illness, and misfortune.
