Sipping my tea here in my kitchen and thought I would have a discussion about the best color for your kitchen. It is important to keep in mind the kitchen is the most popular room when it comes to socializing and of course to just sit and have a nice meal. With that in mind, too much gray, black or other dark colors would make the room appear unnecessarily heavy and somber. Likewise, and excess of stainless steel, chrome, and highly polished, dark stone can feel cold, serious, and sometimes even hostile. Good design doesn't need to feel sterile. According to the law of yin and yang, the various colors, elements, forms and materials should be integrated into a harmonious whole. In other words, if you like to use a lot of dark colors, you need to be sure to also include balancing light touches. Straight lines and hard surfaces need soft, round and flowing objects as balance. Everything has a counterpart. In the end, if the emphasis is more friendly, light, open and expansive, you will feel comfortable and prpare food that has a positive effect on the people who eat it.
